Head Boy Awarded Army Cadet of the Year
Lincoln Godwin, a Year 12 student and our Head Boy, has been awarded the RSL WA Spirit of ANZAC Army Cadet of the Year 2025. He is one of four winners representing Army Cadets, Navy Cadets, Air Force Cadets, and Cadets WA.
Lincoln will travel to Canberra for ANZAC Week from April 22 to 26, 2025. His trip is fully funded by the award. It will include participating in the ANZAC Day Dawn Service and March, attending a Sunset Last Post Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial, and visiting important sites like the Royal Military College Duntroon, the Australian Defence Force Academy, and Parliament House.
This award reflects his role as Company Commander of 515 ACU Bunbury and Cadet Adjutant (ADJT) for 53 Battalion. In these positions, he oversaw around 350 cadets in the region. He also took part in national policy discussions as a member of the National Cadet Training Committee, where he advised senior Army officers on cadet training and development.
To win this award, Lincoln went through a difficult assessment in Perth. This included a dress and bearing inspection, a first aid theory exam, a general knowledge test, and a speech on “What the Spirit of ANZAC Means to Me.”
His selection showcases his leadership, service, and commitment to the ANZAC values. We are extremely proud of Lincoln’s achievements and pleased to support him on this journey.
