Wellbeing

Supporting Resilient, Confident, Compassionate Learners

At Hope Christian College, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that young people thrive when they feel connected, supported, and equipped with the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges. Through evidence-based programs and meaningful partnerships, we provide students with opportunities to develop resilience, emotional wellbeing, leadership, and positive decision-making skills from Pre-Primary through to Year 12.

School Chaplaincy

At Hope Christian College, we recognise the importance of every student having trusted adults who can provide encouragement, guidance, and support. Located within our dedicated Wellbeing Hub, our Primary and High School Chaplains offer a welcoming space where students feel safe, valued, and heard.

Our Chaplains work alongside students through the everyday joys and challenges of school life, providing pastoral care, wellbeing support, and meaningful connection. Whether navigating friendships, personal difficulties, family changes, or simply needing someone to talk to, students have access to compassionate support grounded in our Christian values.

As part of our holistic approach to wellbeing, our Chaplaincy team helps foster resilience, belonging, positive relationships, and a strong sense of purpose, ensuring every student is supported to flourish both personally and spiritually.

The Resilience Project (Pre-Primary to Year 12)

Hope Christian College proudly implements The Resilience Project across the entire school. This evidence-based wellbeing program teaches practical mental health strategies that help students build resilience, strengthen relationships, and develop a positive outlook on life.

The program focuses on four key pillars:

  • Gratitude
  • Empathy
  • Mindfulness
  • Emotional Literacy

By embedding these principles into everyday school life, students develop:

  • Improved self-esteem and confidence
  • Greater ability to bounce back from challenges
  • Stronger social connections and empathy for others
  • Practical strategies to manage stress and enhance wellbeing

We recognise that wellbeing is most effective when schools and families work together. The Resilience Project includes a dedicated Parent & Carer Hub, providing families with resources, videos, and activities that reinforce these important habits at home, creating a consistent support network for our students.

Hero High by zero2hero (Years 5-12)

Hope Christian College is proud to partner with zero2hero to deliver the Hero High program for students in Years 5 to 12.

These engaging, evidence-based workshops use relatable stories, interactive activities, and practical learning experiences to help students understand and manage the challenges associated with mental health and wellbeing.

Through Hero High, students explore topics including:

  • Anxiety management
  • Resilience
  • Leadership
  • Positive mental health practices
  • Supporting themselves and others

The program aims to create safe environments for open conversations around mental health, reduce stigma, and empower young people with the confidence and skills to seek support when needed. By fostering awareness and understanding, we help students build healthy habits that support lifelong wellbeing.
